David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) finished 4-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murdoch defeated
Austria's Markus Schagerl 9-3, then won 3-2 against Lee McCleary (Kinross, SCO). Murdoch went on to lose 5-4 against Logan Gray (Stirling, SCO). Murdoch lost 5-4 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) where Murdoch responded with a 7-0 win over Sandy Reid (Forfar, SCO). Murdoch won 5-2 against Scotland's Neil Joss. Murdoch went on to lose 4-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Murdoch earned 2.420 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 18 of the event schedule, Murdoch did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murdoch ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
