Brent Yamada (Kamloops, BC) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Yamada finished 4-5 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yamada lost
7-4 to Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC), then responded with a 6-5 win over Jason Clark (Victoria, BC). Yamada went on to lose 8-6 against Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC). Yamada lost 4-3 to Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Yamada lost 7-5 to Tom Buchy (Kimberley, BC) where Yamada responded with a 8-5 win over Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC). Yamada won 8-2 against Aron Herrick (Vernon, BC), then won 8-4 against Darren Heath (Vernon, BC). Yamada went on to lose 8-5 against Neil Dangerfield (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
