Howard responded with a 11-2 win over Jake Higgs (Harrison, ON). Howard won 7-1 against Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON), then won 7-1 against Chris Gardner (Ottawa, ON) and 9-7 against Balsdon. Howard won 10-4 against Nick Rizzo (Brantford, ON), then won 9-2 against Dale Matchett (Bradford, ON) and 8-2 against Mark Kean (Ajax, ON). Howard went on to lose 6-5 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
