Owen finished 4-1 in the 26-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Owen defeated Saskatchewan's Brandee Borne 7-2, then won 5-3 against Lisa Johnson (Edmonton, AB). Owen went on to lose 5-4 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB). Owen responded with a 7-2 win over Delia DeJong (Edmonton, AB). Owen won 8-2 against Heather Rankin (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Owen earned 8.220 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Boundary Ford Curling Classic, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 22nd place overall with 71.114 total points. Owen ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.690 points earned so far this season.
