Birt lost 8-2 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) where Birt responded with a 8-6 win over Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, CAN). Birt won 7-5 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB), then won 6-3 against Heather Smith-Dacey (Halifax, NS). Birt went on to lose 4-3 against Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC). Birt lost 7-6 to Kerry Galusha (Yellowknife, Y/NWT) where Birt responded with a 8-5 win over Cathy Overton-Clapham (Winnipeg, MB). Birt won 10-5 against Stacie Devereaux (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Birt earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 56th place overall with 34.725 total points. Birt ranks 51st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 20.700 points earned so far this season.
