Jacobson went on to lose 6-2 against Heath McCormick (New York, NY). Jacobson lost 9-4 to Craig Brown (Madison, WI) where Jacobson responded with a 7-5 win over Geoff Goodland (Eau Claire, WI). Jacobson won 6-4 against Craig Disher (Rolla, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Jacobson earned 5.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
