Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) finished 7-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated
Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO) 4-1, then won 7-3 against Czech Republic's Jiri Snitil. Ulsrud went on to lose 6-5 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Ulsrud responded with a 7-3 win over Germany's Andy Kapp. Ulsrud won 6-2 against Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA), then won 6-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Ulsrud went on to lose 9-7 against Switzerland's Christof Schwaller. Ulsrud responded with a 8-2 win over Rob Vilain (Tilburg, NED). Ulsrud won 8-7 against Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships Championship title, Ulsrud earned 45.000 world rankings points, remaining in 6th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 295.850 total points. Ulsrud ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 90.650 points earned so far this season.
