Salo responded with a 5-3 win over Dustin Montpellier (North Bay, NONT). Salo went on to lose 7-1 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). Salo lost 9-7 to Mike Pozihun (Thunder Bay, NONT) where Salo responded with a 7-5 win over Mike Jakubo (Copper Cliff, NONT). Salo went on to lose 8-5 against Mike Assad (Thunder Bay, NONT). Salo lost 5-3 to Tim Nordin (Stratton, NONT) where Salo responded with a 7-4 win over Robbie Gordon (Sudbury, NONT). Salo won 7-6 against David MacInnes (Englehart, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
