Gushue won 9-3 against Shawn Adams (Halifax, NS), then won 6-5 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) and 8-5 against Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue won 8-7 against Francois Gagne (Montreal, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
