Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth finished 7-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth defeated
Arizona's Fred Maxie 8-5, then won 7-4 against Andy Jukich (St. Paul, MN) and 7-2 against Colorado's Darrick Kizlyk. Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth won 9-6 against Robb Borland (Mayfield, OH), then won 10-4 against Illinois's Dave Durrant. Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth went on to lose 6-5 against Wisconsin's Rob Hipke. Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth responded with a 6-1 win over Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth went on to lose 11-2 against North Dakota's Al Gulseth. Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth responded with a 8-5 win over Scott Edie (Potomac, MD) in their final qualifying round match.
