Robb Borland (Mayfield, OH) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Borland finished 5-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Borland defeated
Andy Jukich (St. Paul, MN) 8-2, then won 8-6 against Colorado's Darrick Kizlyk. Borland went on to lose 10-3 against Scott Edie (Potomac, MD). Borland lost 7-4 to Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Borland lost 9-6 to Alaska's Steve Shuttleworth where Borland responded with a 8-4 win over Wisconsin's Rob Hipke. Borland won 10-4 against North Dakota's Al Gulseth, then won 9-2 against Illinois's Dave Durrant. Borland went on to lose 9-8 against Arizona's Fred Maxie in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Borland did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Borland ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
