Nergaard Runner-Up at 2010 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship

Torger Nergaard (Oslo, NOR) lost 9-3 to Kevin Koe (Edmonton, CAN) in the Final of the Capital One World Men's Curling Championship, held April 3 - 10, 2010 in Cortina dAmpezzo, Italy.
 
Nergaard finished 10-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nergaard lost 5-4 to Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO), then responded with a 9-3 win over Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA). Nergaard won 7-4 against Sweden's Per Carlsen, then won 7-4 against Japan's Makato Tsuruga and 6-4 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, USA). Nergaard won 7-1 against Stefan Karnusian (St. Moritz, SUI), then won 10-5 against Italy's Joel Retornaz and 5-3 against Denmark's Ulrik Schmidt. Nergaard won 8-3 against Germany's Andy Kapp, then won 6-3 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN) and 9-8 against Koe in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Nergaard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Nergaard ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
