6-3 to Kevin Koe (Edmonton, CAN), then responded with a 7-5 win over Stefan Karnusian (St. Moritz, SUI). Fenson went on to lose 8-7 against Denmark's Ulrik Schmidt. Fenson responded with a 6-1 win over Japan's Makato Tsuruga. Fenson went on to lose 6-4 against Torger Nergaard (Oslo, NOR). Fenson responded with a 7-5 win over Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA). Fenson won 6-5 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN), then won 8-5 against Italy's Joel Retornaz and 7-5 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO). Fenson won 8-4 against Germany's Andy Kapp, then won 10-2 against Sweden's Per Carlsen in their final qualifying round match.
