Muirhead finished 8-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Angelina Jensen (Taarnby, DEN) 9-4, then went on to lose 9-6 against Schopp. Muirhead responded with a 14-4 win over Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN). Muirhead won 11-2 against Moe Meguro (Aomori, JPN), then won 7-3 against Cissi Ostlund (Karlstad, SWE) and 7-3 against Linn Githmark (Oslo, NOR). Muirhead won 10-1 against Iveta Stasa-Sarsune (Jelgava, LAT), then won 9-7 against Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI) and 7-4 against Erika Brown (Madison, WI). Muirhead went on to lose 9-5 against Liudmilla Privivkova (Moscow, RUS). Muirhead lost 8-5 to Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
