To advance to the championship game, Armstrong won 5-1 over Tim Morrison (Brooklin, ON) in the semifinals of the 2011 Ingersoll Clash in Ingersoll, Ontario; and won 7-4 over Ontario's Josh Johnston in the quarterfinals.
 
Armstrong finished 2-2 in the 20-team qualifying round. . . Armstrong went on to lose 0-0 against Ontario's Josh Johnston in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Ingersoll Clash, Armstrong take home 1.750 world rankings points along with the $1,900CDN prize, moving up 27 spots the World Ranking Standings into 146th place overall with 5.575 total points.
