Mark Kean (Toronto, ON) qualified for the 2011 Sun Life Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-2 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). of the 2011 Sun Life Classic in Brantford, Ontario;

Kean finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kean defeated Mathew Camm (Ottawa, ON) 5-3, then went on to lose 9-6 against Stjerne. Kean lost 7-4 to Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) where Kean responded with a 7-3 win over Greg Richardson (Ottawa, ON). Kean won 8-7 against John Epping (Toronto, ON), then won 9-6 against Jake Higgs (Harriston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Kean earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Sun Life Classic, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 16th place overall with 106.688 total points. Kean ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 52.743 points earned so far this season.
