Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON) qualified for the 2011 Sun Life Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-2 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI).

Balsdon won 8-4 against Mike Harris (Oakville, ON), then won 7-1 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) and 6-4 against Jake Higgs (Harriston, ON). Balsdon went on to lose 8-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Balsdon responded with a 9-4 win over Rob Rumfeldt (Guelph, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Balsdon earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Sun Life Classic, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 21st place overall with 91.815 total points. Balsdon ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 43.075 points earned so far this season.
