Birt won 8-2 against Robyn Silvernagle (Meadow Lake, SK), then won 7-2 against Cassie Potter (St. Paul, MN). Birt went on to lose 7-1 against Erika Brown (Madison, WI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Birt earned 5.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 42nd place overall with 35.070 total points. Birt ranks 37th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 14.370 points earned so far this season.
