Heather Strong (St. John's, NL) finished 3-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Strong defeated Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) 7-2, then won 7-6 against Lisa Farnell (Chaffey's Locks, ON). Strong went on to lose 8-1 against Eve Muirhead (Perth, SCO). Strong responded with a 5-4 win over Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB). Strong went on to lose 9-1 against Erika Brown (Madison, WI). Strong lost 7-6 to Laura Crocker (Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week 14 of the event schedule, Strong did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 107th place on the World Ranking Standings with 7.250 total points. Strong ranks 151st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.250 points earned so far this season.
