Cotter won 6-3 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB), then won 7-3 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Cotter earned 10.950 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Westcoast Curling Classic, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 17th place overall with 85.025 total points. Cotter ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.600 points earned so far this season.
