Murdoch finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murdoch lost 6-5 to Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS), then responded with a 6-4 win over Matt Lang (Saskatoon, SK). Murdoch won 4-3 against Randy Bryden (Regina, SK). Murdoch went on to lose 9-6 against Chris Galbraith (Winnipeg, MB). Murdoch responded with a 9-4 win over Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK). Murdoch won 9-3 against Bryden, then won 6-5 against Brent Bawel (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Murdoch earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Point Optical Curling Classic. For week 6 of the event schedule, Murdoch did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murdoch ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
