Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK) qualified for the 2011 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-4 against Scott Bitz (Regina, SK).

Joyce finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Joyce defeated Mike Eberle (Regina, SK) 7-1, then won 7-4 against Randy Bryden (Regina, SK). Joyce went on to lose 5-3 against Matt Lang (Saskatoon, SK). Joyce lost 7-3 to Saskatchewan's Braeden Moskowy where Joyce responded with a 1-0 win over Eberle. Joyce won 6-2 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
