Gushue finished 3-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Fitzner-Leblanc 6-0, then went on to lose 7-1 against Pierre Charette (Saguenay, PQ). Gushue responded with a 6-1 win over John Epping (Toronto, ON). Gushue won 7-4 against Robert Desjardins (Chicoutimi, PQ) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Challenge Casino de Charlevoix, Gushue take home 14.535 world rankings points along with the $7,000CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 139.583 total points.
