Thurston won 7-1 against Jennifer Wickenheiser (Medicine Hatt, AB), then won 5-4 against Allison MacInnes (Kamloops, BC) and 5-4 against Satsuki Fujisawa (nagano, JPN). Thurston went on to lose 7-0 against Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN). Thurston responded with a 8-2 win over Diane Foster (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Thurston earned 4.875 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the MNP Charity Classic, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 36th place overall with 35.417 total points. Thurston ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.875 points earned so far this season.
