Ben Mikkelsen (Thunder Bay, ON) finished 3-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mikkelsen defeated
Mark Haluptzok (Bemidji, MN) 6-5, then won 7-6 against Mike Pozihun (thundwer bay, NONT). Mikkelsen went on to lose 8-3 against Minnesota's Tyler George. Mikkelsen lost 4-2 to Ontario's Joe Scharf where Mikkelsen responded with a 5-2 win over Minnesota's Pete Fenson. Mikkelsen went on to lose 7-2 against Northern Ontario's Jeff Currie in their final qualifying round match.
 
Mikkelsen earned 0.425 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 13 of the event schedule, Mikkelsen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mikkelsen ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
