Gushue went on to lose 7-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue responded with a 6-4 win over Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB). Gushue won 5-4 against Rob Fowler (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 18.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GP Car and Home World Cup of Curling, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 13th place overall with 125.048 total points. Gushue ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 65.320 points earned so far this season.
