Mallett went on to lose 4-3 against Korea's Eunjung Kim. Mallett responded with a 6-2 win over Japan's Sayaka Yoshimura. Mallett went on to lose 9-6 against Jen Rusnell (Prince George, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
