To advance to the championship game, Lyburn won 6-4 over Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2011 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 7-0 over David Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Lyburn finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lyburn defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 8-4, then won 5-3 against Grassie and 6-5 against Carl deConninck Smith (Rosetown, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the DEKALB Superspiel, Lyburn take home 5.355 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN prize, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 52nd place overall with 38.208 total points. Lyburn ranks 41st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.020 points earned so far this season.
