In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Russia's Victoria Makaharina 5-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Margaretha Sigfridsson (Umea, SWE). Muirhead responded with a 7-3 win over Norway's Kristine Davanger. Muirhead won 4-3 against Switzerland's Michele Jaeggi in their final qualifying round match.
