Birr won 6-4 against Ryan Berg (West Fargo, ND). Birr went on to lose 7-4 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel, Birr take home 3.150 world rankings points along with the $3,122CDN prize, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 67th place overall with 31.075 total points.
