Tyler George (Duluth, MN) qualified for the 2011 Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-5 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, ON).

George finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, George defeated Dale Gibbs (Woodbury, MN) 7-4, then won 5-3 against Jack Carr (Thunder Bay, NONT). George went on to lose 5-2 against Wisconsin's John Benton. George responded with a 7-1 win over Minnesota's John Shuster. George won 8-5 against Eric Fenson (Bemidji, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

George earned 1.350 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel, remaining in 38th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 59.420 total points. George ranks 36th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 27.545 points earned so far this season.
