To advance to the championship game, Brown won 3-0 over Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, ON) in the semifinals of the 2011 Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States; and won 6-3 over Northern Ontario's Jeff Currie in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States;
 
Brown finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brown defeated Jason Smith (Ft. Myers, FL) 4-3, then won 6-1 against Tom Scott (Hibbing, MN) and 5-1 against Minnesota's Peter Stolt. Brown went on to lose 7-6 against Paul Pustovar (Hibbing, MN). Brown responded with a 7-3 win over Northern Ontario's Bryan Burgess in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel Championship title, Brown earned 4.500 world rankings points along with the $5,204CDN first prize cheque, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 77th place overall with 26.218 total points. Brown ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.325 points earned so far this season.
