Ben Mikkelsen (Thunder Bay, ON) run at the 2011 Kia Curling Classic Superspiel came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-2 loss to Wisconsin's Craig Brown. of the 2011 Kia Curling Classic Superspiel in Sault Ste.Marie, Ontario, Canada; Mikkelsen advanced through the quarterfinals with a 9-7 win over Mike Assad (Thunder Bay, ON). of the 2011 Kia Curling Classic Superspiel in Sault Ste.Marie, Ontario, Canada;

Mikkelsen finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mikkelsen lost 7-1 to Northern Ontario's Bryan Burgess, then responded with a 6-3 win over Ontario's Dustin Montpellier. Mikkelsen won 6-2 against Matt Dumontelle (Sudbury, ON). Mikkelsen went on to lose 7-5 against Ontario's Mike Jakubo. Mikkelsen responded with a 7-1 win over Matt Paul (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Mikkelsen earned 2.150 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Kia Curling Classic Superspiel. For week 11 of the event schedule, Mikkelsen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mikkelsen ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
