In their opening game, Paul lost 8-4 to Ontario's Mike Jakubo, droppimg another game, 9-5 to Larry Pallot (Goulais River, ON) where Paul responded with a 8-7 win over Devon Parry (Sudbury, ON). Paul won 5-3 against Robert Brewer (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). Paul went on to lose 7-1 against Ben Mikkelsen (Thunder Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Paul earned 0.430 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 48th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 36.969 total points. Paul ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.105 points earned so far this season.
