In their opening game, Ross lost 7-6 to Willie MacPherson (Alliston, ON), then responded with a 7-3 win over Rob Lipsett (Markdale, ON). Ross went on to lose 6-4 against Mike Aprile (Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
