To advance to the championship game, Fowler won 6-2 over Vic Peters (Winnipeg , MB) in the semifinals of the 2011 Manitoba Lotteries Men's Curling Classic in Brandon; and won 7-5 over Darrell McKee (Saskatoon, SK) in the quarterfinals.
 
Fowler finished 2-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fowler defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 6-2, then won 7-5 against Peters in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Manitoba Lotteries Men's Curling Classic, Fowler take home 6.405 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 9th place overall with 128.865 total points. Fowler ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.405 points earned so far this season.
