Backe finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Backe defeated Nicole Montgomery (Maple Ridge, BC) 7-4, then won 6-4 against Cristin Clark (Seattle, WA) and 9-7 against Kristy Lewis (Vancouver, BC). Backe won 10-3 against Sheri Pickering (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Backe earned 1.250 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Vancouver Island Shootout. For week 13 of the event schedule, Backe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Backe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
