Ayumi Ogasawara (Kariuzawa, JPN) lost 8-6 to Roselyn Craig (Duncan, BC) in the Final of the Vancouver Island Shootout, held November 11 - 13, 2011 at the Juan de Fuca Curling Club in Victoria, Canada. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Ogasawara won 4-3 over Sheri Pickering (Calgary, AB) to advance to the championship game. of the 2011 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; of the 2011 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Ogasawara finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ogasawara defeated Lynne Noble (Victoria, BC) 7-3, then won 6-4 against British Columbia's Simone Groundwater. Ogasawara went on to lose 6-4 against Dana Ferguson (Calgary, AB). Ogasawara responded with a 7-3 win over Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Vancouver Island Shootout, Ogasawara take home 1.750 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize. For week 13 of the event schedule, Ogasawara did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ogasawara ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
