Stephen Dropkin (Wayland, MA) won 7-2 over Scott Edie (Middletown, MD) in the Final of the National Capital Cashspiel, held November 25 - 27, 2011 in Laurel, Maryland. To advance to the championship game, Dropkin won 7-5 over Derek Surka (New Haven, CT) in the semifinals of the 2011 National Capital Cashspiel in Laurel, Maryland;
 
Dropkin finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin defeated Brian Galebach (Columbia, MD) 8-7, then won 6-5 against New York's Hannah Ely. Dropkin went on to lose 7-6 against New York's Brandon Corbett. Dropkin responded with a 6-5 win over Surka. Dropkin went on to lose 7-4 against Edie in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the National Capital Cashspiel Championship title, Dropkin earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $2,540CDN first prize cheque. For week 15 of the event schedule, Dropkin did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 144th to 146th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 7.500 total points. Dropkin ranks 150th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.500 points earned so far this season.
