Sormunen finished 2-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sormunen lost 6-5 to Marlo Dahl (Thunder Bay, NONT), droppimg another game, 6-4 to Fossum where Sormunen responded with a 6-5 win over Megan St Amand (Thunder Bay, NONT). Sormunen won 9-1 against Karlee Jones (Thunder Bay , ON) in their final qualifying round match.
