Derek Boe (Regina, SK) finished 2-3 in the 31-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Boe defeated Scott Ramsay (Winnipeg, MB) 8-2, then went on to lose 9-4 against Manitoba's Joey Witherspoon. Boe responded with a 5-0 win over John Shuster (Duluth, MN). Boe went on to lose 8-3 against Rob Van Kommer (Carberry, MB). Boe lost 6-5 to Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week 16 of the event schedule, Boe did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 119th to 120th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 11.825 total points. Boe ranks 95th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.325 points earned so far this season.
