To advance to the championship game, Martin won 4-2 over Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Victoria Curling Classic Invitational in Victoria, British Columbia; and won 5-4 over Dean Joanisse (Victoria, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Victoria Curling Classic Invitational in Victoria, British Columbia;
 
Martin finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . . Martin went on to lose 6-5 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Victoria Curling Classic Invitational Championship title, Martin earned 23.590 world rankings points along with the $22,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15.83 after improving upon their best so far this season. Martin ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 206.870 points earned so far this season.
