To advance to the championship game, Madams won 6-0 over Trevor Loreth (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2011 Ken Kurbis Memorial Galaxy Open Bonspiel in Winnipeg, Manitoba; and won 7-1 over David Hamblin (Morris, MB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Madams finished 3-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Madams defeated Manitoba's David Tonnellier 6-0, then won 7-1 against Joel Marcon (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-4 against Kyle Doering (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
