Irving finished 4-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Irving defeated Meghan Armit (Winnipeg, MB) 6-2, then went on to lose 8-5 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB). Irving responded with a 5-4 win over Rob Atkins (Winnipeg, MB). Irving won 5-3 against Bryce J. McEwen (Winnipeg, MB), then won 6-3 against Kyle Doering (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
