Hartung responded with a 6-3 win over John Shuster (Duluth, MN). Hartung won 7-3 against Jason Jacobson (Saskatoon, SK), then won 7-3 against Stoughton and 6-2 against Grassie in their final qualifying round match.
 
Hartung earned 10.125 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Whites Drug Store Classic, moving up 74 spots the World Ranking Standings into 89th place overall with 15.177 total points.
