Chelsea Carey (Morden, MB) lost 6-5 to Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Manitoba Scotties, held January 25 - 29, 2012 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
 
Carey finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Liza Park (Brandon, MB) 6-2, then won 10-1 against Lisa DeRiviere (Miami, MB) and 9-2 against Kim Link (Winnipeg, MB). Carey won 9-2 against Lisa Menard (Dauphin, MB). Carey went on to lose 6-5 against Janet Harvey (Winnipeg, MB). Carey responded with a 7-5 win over Cathy Overton-Clapham (Winnipeg, MB). Carey went on to lose 11-8 against Michelle Montford (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Manitoba Scotties, Carey take home 10.200 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Carey did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Carey ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
