To advance to the championship game, Phillips won 8-4 over Stacie Devereaux (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2012 Newfoundland/Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts in St. Johns, Newfoundland / Labrador;

Phillips finished 2-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Phillips defeated Devereaux 10-5, then won 8-7 against Shelley Nichols (St. John's, NL). Phillips went on to lose 10-5 against Beth Hamilton (St. John's, NL). Phillips lost 8-1 to Strong in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Newfoundland/Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Phillips take home 2.500 world rankings points, moving up 159 spots the World Ranking Standings into 176th place overall with 2.500 total points.
