Cotter won 9-5 against Rob Fowler (Brandon, MB), then won 5-4 against Robert Desjardins (Chicoutimi, PQ) and 7-3 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, NONT). Cotter went on to lose 8-6 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Cotter lost 8-4 to Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). Cotter lost 7-5 to Mike Gaudet (Charlottetown, PEI). Cotter lost 7-5 to Terry Odishaw (Moncton, NB). Cotter lost 8-3 to Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, Y/NWT) in their final qualifying round match.

Cotter earned 8.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 30 of the event schedule, Cotter did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Cotter ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
