Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidore, DEN) 6-3, then went on to lose 11-6 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Ulsrud lost 7-4 to Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZL). Ulsrud lost 8-3 to Glenn Howard (Coldwater, CAN) where Ulsrud responded with a 6-4 win over Jiri Snitil (Brno, CZE). Ulsrud won 9-4 against Heath McCormick (New York, USA), then won 8-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) and 7-5 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Ulsrud won 7-6 against Johnny Jahr (Fuessen, GER), then won 6-4 against Jan Hauser (GC R+B, SUI) and 9-6 against Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Ulsrud earned 20.000 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the World Men's Curling Championship.
