Jordan Steinke (Dawson Creek, BC) lost 9-4 to Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Alberta SUBWAY Junior Championships, held January 10 - 15, 2012 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Steinke won 8-4 over Dylan Gousseau (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Alberta SUBWAY Junior Championships in Medicine Hat, Alberta;
 
Steinke finished 4-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steinke defeated Shane Parcels (Edmonton, AB) 10-4, then went on to lose 9-4 against Gousseau. Steinke lost 6-4 to Scott Smith (Calgary, AB). Steinke lost 7-3 to Bottcher where Steinke responded with a 9-2 win over Kyler Kleibrink (Okotoks, AB). Steinke won 10-5 against Brett Vavrek (Sexsmith, AB), then won 6-4 against Dylan Webster (Sundre, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
